The number of landline telephone users in the city of chennai might be decreasing.

Due to increasing usage of mobile phones in the city and since mobile phones can be carried unlike telephones, landline subscribers are declining.

People seem to be having landline phones mainly for broadband apart from STD / ISD Calls

Can’t see any sign of the Phone @ Univercell

I was surprised to notice a new mobile showroom on the ECR.There is only one showroom called Signals that i remember seeing on the same road before.Univercell has opened a new showroom in ECR

Airtel Chennai’s Network was down for about 2 hours today . As I write this post , the network seems to be back up.

Both General users and Blackberry users were complaining of lack of coverage.

I myself saw a 0 in the signal strength indicator for about an hour and my 6630 had switched to 3G.

I was surprised when I came to know that Wavetelmobiles

is selling phones cheaper than many other retailers including Univercell

For instance take the Nokia N73 Music Edition which is a hot seller

Univercell sells it at Rs.22500 and Wavetell at  Rs.21950
